Ghostbusters makes its long-awaited return, rebooted with a cast of hilarious new characters. Thirty years after the beloved original franchise took the world by storm, director Paul Feig brings his fresh take to the supernatural comedy, joined by some of the funniest actors working today – Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth. This summer, they’re here to save the world!
Ghostbusters was the first movie I ever owned. I repeatedly watched that movie to the point that I could recite lines. I was optimistic when Jonah Hill and friends were taking pictures with the Ecto 1 and lost all hope when they announced this new all female iteration of the team. I, literally, have no hope or good expectations for this film which is a great place for this film to be in that regard because there’s no chance of disappointment. I didn’t chuckle, smile, or enjoy a moment of this trailer. Slimer was nice to see but everything else seems to just confirm my concerns. This team is unfamiliar and doesn’t have any of the humor or charm I associate with this franchise.
I will stop now because I have nothing good to say.
