There’s a Jimi Hendrix biopic on the way! This is a cause for celebration! He’s being portrayed by a musician. This may be one of the few times where such a casting is somewhat appropriate. Andre 3 stacks has a few films under his belt but nothing in comparison to portraying a musical legend like Hendrix so there is some cause for apprehension. Let’s take a look at these photo’s and see if he has the ‘look’ right.

He doesn’t look too bad. I want to be optimistic and supportive of this film but my innate disdain for musicians turned actors is incredibly difficult to ignore. Maybe if they can dazzle me with some good footage they can change my mind but as it stands I’m cautiously skeptical. He has the look, but does he have the chops to portray a dramatic role such as a biopic?
