Contest: What’s your favorite car chase? Two £25 Amazon Vouchers are Up for Grabs!

tmb-contest-05-29-12

Car chases just aren’t what they used to be. Long gone are those golden days in the 60’s and 70’s when the car chase was a metal-crunching, mega-expensive explosion-off that led to new heights of destruction through the steep streets of San Francisco. The trouble is, as with most things in modern blockbusters, the power of green screen and CGI often prove too much of a temptation for lazy filmmakers. After all, why blow the budget on a fuel tank detonation that catapults a flaming tire into the path of a passing helicopter which mushrooms into a million pieces when you can simply pay a lackey to design it? It is, unfortunately, these elements that are sacrificed when computer software becomes cheaper than building a proper set. With this in mind, it’s hard to picture what film will be like in the future.

Therefore, we feel it’s about time the epic car chases of old were celebrated and glorified in a manner that they deserve. This is where the lovely guys at Economy Car Hire come in because they’ve stepped up and provided. After all, if you’re looking for car hire Spain is renowned for its extreme roads, mountain passes and car-chase potential. So who better to sponsor a competition like this?

Thanks to Economy Car Hire, we’ve got two £25 Amazon vouchers to give away; all you have to do is answer this question:

What’s your favourite car chase of all time and why?

100 words max. Be creative. Answer by commenting below and don’t forget to include your email address so we can contact you if you win! Good luck.
