A recent post from Reuters has the rumor mill running and the fanboys chatting. The post primarily surrounds the Mayan calendar but mentions the Mayan temple grounds and their use in the previous ‘Star Wars’ films as the background for Yavin 4. The section of the the article that is of particular interest is where they mention Yavin 4 being a setting in the next ‘Star Wars’ film.
Yavin 4 and the rebel base return to the Star Wars plot in the forthcoming Episode VII, announced in October by the Walt Disney Co, in which Skywalker comes back to the planet to build a Jedi Knight academy. However, fans said that Disney will likely film those scenes in a studio rather than return to Tikal
Whether this is true or not, I don’t find it to be of particular interest. It doesn’t tell much about the details of the upcoming film. There are no plot points revealed and the use of Yavin 4 just reveals that they would be using an already established base, which would make sense in any timeline. I’ll get excited when I hear some details that reveal a little bit more.
Hoth is no place for an Academy and Naboo as far as I am concerned has no value of having a Academy there not because it gave us Binks. Yavin IV is the most suitable base of operations for Skywalker to create the Jedi Academy because of its history with the Sith Empire especially relating to Exar Kun and Freedon Nadd. Perfect location to have the Trials of the Jedi Knight for you must face the temptation of the Darkside of the Force in those tombs.
GarethTelfer You are suggesting a rather…”SW: Jedi Academy”approach for the film. Which is not bad, after all the game was more than awesome.

Yes that is exactly what I am suggesting and I also enjoyed the Jedi Knight series (wish they made another installment but I aint that needy). Yavin IV has all the necessary obstacles to train and test a padawan/apprentice unless Master Skywalker suggest they still go out on missions with their training master.
Anything but Naboo, this planet was horrible and it gave us the horrific Jar-Jar. Hoth, my favourite planet, on the other hand - now that’s more like it.
