There hasn’t been very much word about Transformers 4 since Michael Bay was confirmed to return as director of the film. There have been mumurs and rumors about who’s going and who’s returning but nothing concrete. Michael Bay PROMISES that this next entry will be his final installment but not only that but that the bots will sport a new look.
There’s plenty more Transformer action to come with a major new video game release, “Transformers: Fall of Cybertron,” due in August and another Bay movie in the works. (The director, by the way, says that the fourth film will include some redesign of the robots and an entirely new cast. He also said it will be his last and set the franchise up “for the next guy.”)
Great. I’ve already learned to handle that he was gonna reprise his role rather than allow another director to show us Transfmers in a different light but now he’s establishing a look and feel for the next trilogy of films and pulling the plug on all hope that another talented director will be able to make a definitive mark of their own. Why not just ‘Godfather’ the film like Christopher Nolan has been with ‘The Man of Steel’? Why set the tone for whoever follows in his footsteps? I don’t mind a robo-redesign but if he’s going to go for a new look and feel for the franchise why not just produce and let someone else direct?

I kind of doubt it will be his last. Lol. Five, ten, twenty years later he might come out with another movie to add to the franchise. I mean, look at Star Wars, Die Hard, and the like…
@roseywinter At the moment I’m also doubting that it will be his last. Seems like it’s just his favorite salary negotiation tactic.
