Transformers 3 will have LESS robots
So instead of having Robots pop out every 2 minutes in Transformers 2, Michael Bay has already reported there will be less robots in part 3. If we can at least get rid of the Jar-Jar twins, then you can’t do any worse. Addition by subtraction. I am hoping to see MUCH more of Cybertron in part 3, but if we’re talking less robots I think it rules that out.
Here is what Bay said:
So can we expect more thunderous sound in the third installment? Although the number of robots increased significantly from the first film for the second, the third film — which will hit theaters in summer 2011, won’t be as robot-heavy and there will be fewer explosions, a tight-lipped Bay said after the Q+A.
“There will be a nice crescendo ending,” Bay said. “It gets much more into the robot character. The last time you kind of met a few of the robots; this time you’re gonna get a much cooler landscape.”

I hope they take out the Twins.

I hope Megan Fox takes out her twins….seriously more Cybatron would be cool he did say “cooler landscape” right?
Yeah… Take out the twins and any little annoying robot that likes humping things.
I guess they would have to take out Bumblebee, then because he humps the ground in the second film.
I think he was referencing Wheelie. LOL.
And they should keep the sex/drug jokes to a minimum. Not every conversation has to be a punchline
I know he was talking about Wheelie, but if they have to take out all the characters that hump things, then they would have to take out Bumblebee as well.

I believe Bay was the only one who wanted to direct the film. All of the others pulled out, because they didn’t think the series had potential. At least thats what I have heard.
Bay was perfect for this for what it was. An adaptation of a children’s cartoon that is only cool in our memories.
Its still cool. And Bay did as good a job as anyone could.

Yes, an adaptation of a children’s cartoon thats not appropriate for kids. And, its bound to attract kids with it being based off a toy line.
Bay was perfect for this. He took a children’s cartoon and made a movie with humping dog jokes and conversations about masturbation. He understands his sourse material so well.
Hopefully they cancel 3, reboot the franchise and do it right the next time around.
Sadly that wont happen. Not unless the opposite of Spider-Man 4 was happening. Where Paramount and Hasbro actually would want something more then just a huge cash cow.
And instead make a Transformers movie with an actual worth while story and worthwhile versions of the original characters.

As much as we like to bash this guy, there are some bright spots about this franchise..
when we 1st saw these things transform it was exciting too see it finally happening and the overall 1st product wasn’t bad. Tuturro was the only thing out-of -place for me..
part 2 is a whole other situation, some of the beautiful imagry was erased by everything else that went wrong..
less robots is a good thing and get the 2 hood rats a rest this time…it’s offensive.
I think less robots this time around could be a good thing. If he actually is going to focus on character and story more this time. Why didn’t he just do this from the very beginning though?
Usually though it’s weird to me how characters, who didn’t die or just have an ending for that character period, from previous chapters just not show up in squeals. Like how Nightcrawler, after his awesome set up in X2 and the opening of the movie leaving me dying to see him again in combat for part 3, only to have it never happening was very upsetting for me.
Also how Barricade just suddenly disappears in the first Transformers, never to be seen in the rest of the film or part 2. Although not as near bother some as the whole Nightcrawler thing. I think Barricade’s disappearing act was just due to bad writing. Which is also why I’m really ok with them suddenly taking some of the characters out, because, well, most of the movie Transformers just plain suck.
I guess at least he is very open to trying new things every time. Now if only he can find the right things and do them well.
Having less robots may not be a bad thing, there were a lot of little robots in the second one, so less can still be more… Sounds good eh. If they follow the leaked script (which is awesome) then there will be fewer characters, but much more character development and more new characters. I have enjoyed the franchise, T2 took 2 viewings to get used to, and MB will do a better job for he has been listening to the viewers. Too bad he takes what they want and adds his own rendition of it, ie Devastator.
Less explosions? Bay’s directing the third film isn’t he? Okay. So he is. Fewer Explosions then, just bigger and brighter then. Ten Plumes of fire and smoke, instead of Eleven.
Less robots? Take the two hip hop gold tooth types out, one new Decepticon. Still one less robot.
Actually, I could care less if there are less stuff blowing up, or less Autobots/Decepticons. Only thing I want less of is the stupid inane dialog that spews out of the characters mouths.
Now there’s also something less that folks may also want, but Megan’s bosoms still has to work within a PG-13 rating…
Dinobots in TF3…. that’s what the fanboys want .
Bay has said that he HATES the Dinobots, so I doubt we will see them. Unless hasbro forces him to include them.
Dinobots would be hard to fit in while the Autobots are still trying to hold up that “robots in disguise” thing.
I know it makes little sense after the first movie that everyone wouldn’t already know about the Transformers, but the Autobots are still functioning in “secret”
The fanboys also wanted more robots. They got their with with ROTF.

Ravage actually served a purpose in the last film. Although, it was only to get the Alspark shard.
Yeah, Devastator was wasted, but so were many others. Like Arcee, The Fallen(even the title character was wasted), and scorponok.
I’d like to see Laserbeak, Omega Supreme, Ultra Magnus , Trailbreaker, Wheeljack and the Dinobots.

Yup, too much crammed in, still wanna see more Megatron vs. Optimus though, that Optimus scene in the forest was sooo awesome.
they should keep the humor to a minimum with the surrounding cast, just let Shia do his thing..

They should hire Bay as the action director and bring someone else is to collaborate with writers on a decent script. Kind of like a head coach and his coordinators, Bay is the stud offensive coordinator, but a disaster as a head coach…get Spielberg in there for the guts of the story and let Bay make the action look good.
Can’t be all things to all people. I think many seem to forget that this franchise’s main goal is to reintroduce these “toys” to another audience, get some sales, and rake in numbers. It was never going to be just a movie to please all the “fan boys” (too many people with too many varied opinions anyways) and it was never going to be a story that was Oscar worthy. Bay will do what he does best, and that’s create a semi-decent story with lots of explosions. Quit bickering about how “bad” the first two were and enjoy them for what they are: they’re there to make you feel like a teenager again!

Except neither of the two had a “semi-decent” story.
I think differently. Like I said, they were semi-decent, especially considering the target audience was mid-teenage boys. You can’t expect too deep a story, too much character development, or too little mayhem, in a movie based on toys.
Well, Pirates of the Carribean was based on a ride, and it had a great story(the first one anyway), and character development. You can make a great story and character development out of anything as long as you put quality time in it. Bay has shown that he cares very little for quality, and just wants to rush his films.
If Bay took his time to make a quality story, then he could make a film as great as “The Rock” was. He needs to learn that quality is more important than quantity.
And, for the record I enjoy most of Bay’s, including the Transformers films.
