One of the absolute best the is, was, or ever will be has past away. Paul Newman has died from cancer at the age of 83.
There really isn’t anything that one can say that hasn’t been said about this icon a thousand times before… and each and everyone of them is true. The man was a legend in the business and a benchmark for which all other leading men in Hollywood were measured for decades.
His performance in Cool Hand Luke was one of the first I saw as a kid where I recognized the difference between a normal actor and a GREAT actor.
His “best of” roles reads like a hollywood all-star list of films. We’ve lost one of the titans.

Wow… I literally just watched The Color of Money two days ago. I watched The Hustler last week.

this is sad. Newman truly is one of the greatest actors of all time. R.I.P. my friend.
He had a nice long run. I feel more like celebrating the life rather than mourning the death.

2. Tis sad news. Paul Newman was perfect in Cars and probably one of the best along side Charlton Heston. May he rest in Peace.

While Newman was ill for several months, that does not ease the shock and sting of his passing. He was without question one of the best actors ever to walk the face of God’s earth.
My favorite Newman film: The Verdict.
The Verdict was great and it was a defintive role for him. I’ve always loved The Towering Inferno among many others. RIP Paul!
He was one of the greatest of the greats. RIP Cool Hand.

Today we’ve lost NOT just an exceptional actor, but an exceptional MAN. Paul Newman was a great philanthropist, hobbyist, businessman, husband and father.

Cool Hand Luke has been my favorite movie ever since the first time I saw it, and his accomplishments on the track will be equally remembered. If you are a racing fan and haven’t seen Super Speedway in HD, narrated by Paul Newman, do yourself a favor and check it out. Exhilirating.

Just now there was a news report about it on Israeli news.
What really stood out is his affect on society, how influential entertainment is and how important it is that there are people of his stature as true role models in this business.
He was a true professional and one of the greatest actors of our time. They don’t make them like him anymore.
Ok movies aside that man made the best fucking lemonade ever!
